This hydraulic valve system was designed specifically for the cradle dump operation in a poultry processing plant, and is one of our two systems that will remove all shock from the coop dump procedure. Please ask about our No Shock cradle dump cylinders.
This hydraulic valve system will remove all of the shock that can be produced in the existing hand valve systems by the operator rapidly shifting the valve handle back and forth, shaking the cylinders and thus the entire cradle dump assembly framework. In addition to damaging the steel framework and pulling the mounting bolts out of the concrete, this shaking can also damage the coops themselves, resulting in more coop repairs than normal.
In your existing system of (normally) a 5 position hand control valve, the dump valve work ports are connected directly to the cradle dump cylinders through hoses and piping. Our valve system is connected between your existing hand directional valve and the cradle dump cylinders, so your operators have no changes in what they see or operate.
However, the shifting speed of the cylinders can be easily adjusted in the field to any speed desired. The actual cylinder velocity will depend upon the pump size, piping size and layout, and operating pressure. By controlling the shifting speed of our No Shock valve, it doesn’t matter how fast the operator moves his manual control handle, the No Shock valve moves in a controlled manner, completely eliminating the shock that you would normally see in these systems from rapid valve handle movement.
Another advantage to our system over other designs is that our No Shock valve spool is centered every time the operator releases his handle, and the deceleration is also controlled. By centering our valve spool, we have eliminated the delay caused by other “no shock” designs that have to move the spool from a completely extended or retracted position.
Our No Shock valve system is installed inside a 30” W x 24” H NEMA 4 or 4X stainless steel enclosure that can be locked to prevent unauthorized personnel changing the setup. The field connections are normally made with -10 and -12 hydraulic hoses to bulkhead JIC connections on the bottom of the enclosure. This system can be installed in a few hours, and complete installation and startup instructions are included with the system.
Please remember that our No Shock Cradle Dump Hydraulic Valve System will not improve a cradle dump that has an insufficient dumping angle to operate effectively and get the birds out of the coops. Please see our document “Methods to Achieve Proper Cradle Dump Operation” for more details.
